TEKNEK REACHES AGREEMENT WITH SDI.
Teknek has concluded arrangements with SDI. Teknek the world's largest producer of contact cleaning equipment has been in dispute with SDI for some time, however the two parties have reached an amicable settlement.
Teknek's US business has been growing steadily, but with the conclusion of negotiations it will spearhead a new campaign to significantly grow its US presence.
New facilities for Teknek will open in the US within the next few weeks and will offer an enhanced range of products and services. For the first time Teknek's unique sheeted adhesive products will be produced in its US facility allowing more flexibility and faster fulfilment. ‘To ensure a truly global service we are developing three fulfilment centres, one in USA, one in Europe and the other in our Hong Kong facility. Having local customisation is part of our overall strategy to deliver not only the best machines but also the best service possible. Teknek Services which will offer parts, rollers and adhesive products as well as in field repairs and maintenance for both the Teknek products and a wide range of machines produced by others, commented Teknek CEO Stephen Mitchell.
It also coincides with the launch of the all new Surface Mount Clean Machine which is designed to improve yields in all EMS applications. The new machine builds on the Teknek legacy of over 20 years producing contact cleaning equipment, and adds Industrial Design and Design for Manufacturing. With increased functionality and less components in a package which is easy to maintain and looks great, Teknek once again sets the benchmark.
‘Our new Surface Mount machine has some unique design features but its most important feature is its performance. Major customers report as much as an 80% reduction in Tomb stoning, that's payback within months', reports Mitchell.
The new machine is symbolic of what Teknek is able to offer those looking to improve yields. As the only company to both design and produce its own machines, rollers and adhesive it is able to offer unsurpassed performance, quality and longevity. Its operations have recently adopted Lean Thinking, and as a result the Surface Mount Clean Machine is available on a 10 day lead time, again something which sets a new standard.
